Meet Your Mentor

John Kammerer is a producer, sound designer, and educator based in Long Beach, CA. With a deep passion for both the technical and artistic sides of music, he brings over a decade of experience to the classroom and the studio alike.

John was formerly an instructor at the renowned Icon Collective College of Music in Los Angeles, where he taught a wide range of courses including Sound Design, Synthesis, Music Theory, Production Techniques, Ear Training, Live Performance, and Ableton Live until the school’s closure in 2025.

He currently teaches at Encanti Music Academy and works with EDMProd, providing high-quality tutorials, in-depth production feedback, and guidance for up-and-coming electronic artists.

In addition to his work in education, John is active in the Marching Arts community, offering custom sound design and electronic music integration for some of the top drum corps and competitive marching bands in the country.

Under the alias Hello Ego, he produces genre-bending, experimental bass music that fuses intricate sound design with emotional depth. Check out a few tracks below and explore more on Spotify.
